As I drink my Christmas tea and write this article the song ‘it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ is echoing throughout my flat on full blast via my crappy bluetooth speaker, but no matter how terrible the sound quality, it couldn’t feel more like Christmas!
This tea has it all, sweet cinnamon, warmth from the cloves, zesty input from the oranges and the ‘tea-ness’ from my favourite variety of black tea, the distinctive Lady Grey herself. And since it’s Christmas tea, which only comes once a year after all, it has to be sweet so I’ve plopped in some sugar.
To put together, this is no challenge at all, well unless you’re incapable of brewing a cuppa (sort it out!).
Makes 1 pot
- 2 large oranges sliced
- 5 cloves
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 750ml water
- 1 teabag lady grey
- sugar/sweetener to taste
- Heat the water, but do not boil.
- Pour into a teapot with all ingredients and allow to infuse for at least 5 minutes.
Enjoy with a slice of cake and some Christmas tunes.
