These Gram Flour Pancakes are crisp, light, salty, spicy, fragrant and perfect for dipping. They are also vegan, gluten-free and grain-free. I have never attempted these myself – I was too used to my grandma making them so I never made the effort to learn how to make them until now.
Chickpea flour is a big staple in Indian cuisine especially for making breads and desserts. I’m a big fan of pancakes and even though I have a massive sweet tooth, I fancied a change in my pancake life! A grandmother’s cooking is always spot on so why not learn from the best right?! If I’m going to be making a savoury pancake, it’s got to be hers.
The chickpea pancakes are also known as pudla and they are typically served with chutney or pickle. I dipped mine in a spinach, mint and chilli chutney (you can never have too much spice!).
